Activision doesn't control Blizzard. Blizzard actually has a much higher income than Activision iirc. Being partners does not mean Activision can directly control Blizzard.

edit: but I wouldn't be surprised if they sold expansion packs with level increases. Just saying that Activision doesn't run blizzard.

"Why can't the Wii, which is focused on motion gaming, accomplish within four years, then, what the Move is accomplishing at its launch?"

because it's 4 year old technology. If they wanted to increase it's capability they'd miss out on their whole install base and have to sell to a fraction of it (like what they're doing with wii+). Developers will almost always sell to the largest potential customer base, so they develop their games for the lowe...

if you don't want it then stop paying for it.

Reach has a horrible checkpoint system and on harder difficulties the friendly AI is useless.

See. Great games are allowed to have problems.

There's only teaser's, but they are clearly designed for the hardcore and probably don't require a controller.

What's wrong with on rails games anyway? Time Crisis is one of my favorite games and it's on rails (also coming to the PS3). Dead Space Extraction looks like an awesome game and it's on rails. Panzer Dragoon was on rails and tons of fun. House of the Dead was on rails and an awesome game. almost every Schmup ever is technically an on rails gam...

"They think they're right and know what we want better than we do.

It's always been like this. And if you ask them why they don't take suggestions from fans, they'll feed you this B.S. about how games are done differently in Japan, or Japanese tastes are different, etc... "

I agree with this. They're a very xenophobic culture that thinks their way is always the best way. It's a great culture with a crap load of great things,...

"and secondly why would you try to run this game on crushing?"

so you are recommending that people completely ignore a large portion of the game's content?

Wii is 4 years old. Move is a few weeks old. Should we be surprised that Move is better?

In other news my 2 year old blackberry curve is worse than the new samsung epic.

Children of Eden, Steel Batalion, project draco... There were a lot of sweet looking games announced at TGS.

And people knock dance central, but everyone knows it's going to be the next DDR.

"Besides it is no dumber an idea as selling a console without a hard drive nor wi-fi capability with arguably the best online experience."

are you implying that either is not dumb then? From a development standpoint they are both dumb. From a consumer standpoint they are both smart.

It's usability vs cost. Personally I'd take usability every time, which is where both fall short.

the move replaces the right one, but if they had an analogue stick on it, they could have replaced both in one hand or been able to do some other crazy stuff.

The point he is making is that they have to make design choices differently because of how its sold. They can't ensure that people will have 2 moves or a move+nav or whatever (though the DS3 should alleviate that).

He isn't commenting at all on the ability of the Move, just the way it's being sold.

"But the fact is Microsoft is reliant on shooters, whilst Sony relies on their diverse range of exclusive games within many genres."

Would you buy a PS3 if you couldn't play any of the above games?

Both consoles are reliant on shooters because shooters are the in right now. You take away the shooters from either and they'd both sell like tirds.

why does the PS3 list include non-released titles and PSN titles and the xbox list only includes 1 unreleased.

PGR?
Blue Dragon?
Infinite Undiscovery?
Lost Odyssey?
Halo Wars?
viva pinata?
Kameo?
Too Human (I'd consider it more like god of war than a shooter)?
Mech Warrior?

none of those are XBLA games either. If you include XBLA or PSN games then you're definitely talking out of your A$$...

"I can only imagine the the halo fanbois in KZ2 or MAG, trying their usual tactics of running solo in a purple suit while jumping like a monkey, spraying and praying and grenade spamming all the way - it would be a massacre"

good luck getting into a decent division playing like that. You'd get your ass handed to you.

Reach starts really easy, but the end is ludicrously difficult on >heroic. I had no problems with any of the beginning levels, but the last 2/3 took me like 5 hours. Wanted to shoot myself in the face.

I don't think anyone thinks Cliffy B is that amazing. He's a pretty prevalent personality, and he's not a bad game designer, but I don't think anyone holds him to be one of the best game designers in the world.

"Omega...Kentic is not for the hardcore gamer...until they start showing REAL games"

I don't think he was arguing that. He was arguing that it will have non-kinect games to appease the hardcore, while using kinect to attract casuals.
